- How does the PageAlike works?
- The tool compares two pages by considering two parameters: alikeness of the text, and similarity of HTML code.
This allows you to discover if the text and/or the structure of page are similar to the one(s) of the other page.
- How do I read the results?
- Analisys compares how much tags (pieces of code) and words two documents has in common.
The more tags and words two documents have in common, the higher their similarity value in percent.
- Why having unique content is so important?
- You must be aware than when you search on Google, if pages too much similar are found, then Google shows only that one that he thinks is the most relevant between them.
Google does it to avoid you to lose time seeing pages that are substantially the same.
This is called duplicated content filter, and if you run a website you should pay attention to this matter, and do your best in order to have unique pages.
PageAlike helps you to understand if your page will be considered similar to another one, giving you the opportunity to modify and keep your page unique, that way it will be shown in Google for every search that is relevant.
